    AD248 Red Hat JBoss Application Administration I

    JBoss® Application Administration I teaches you the best practices for installing and configuring Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 7. Through hands-on labs, learn the essential, real-world tasks that a system administrator needs to know to effectively deploy and manage applications on JBoss Enterprise Application Platform.
    After completing this course, you should be prepared to take the Red Hat Certified Specialist in Enterprise Application Server Administration exam (EX248).
    Note: AD248 replaces our popular JB248 and JB336 courses and is meant for system administrators. The topics in this course cover all of the exam objectives of the JBCAA exam.

    COURSE OBJECTIVE:
    Following attendance on this course, you will be able to demonstrate these skills:

    • Install JBoss EAP 7 in standalone mode or as a managed domain.
    • Configure the new batch subsystem.
    • Administer the HornetQ messaging subsystem.
    • Secure applications deployed on JBoss EAP.
    • Customize server logging.
    • Create and manage datasource connections to databases.
    • Manage JBoss EAP clustering.

     

    TARGET AUDIENCE:
    System administrators who are both new to JBoss and have experience with JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 5/6

    COURSE PREREQUISITES:
    • Base experience with system administration on Microsoft Windows, UNIX, or Linux® operating systems
    •
    Understanding of hardware and networking
    •
    No prior knowledge of Java, scripting, or JBoss Developer Studio required

    • Install and run JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 7 in standalone mode and domain mode.
    • Configure a domain.
    • Deploy applications to JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 7.
    • Configure the datasource subsystem.
    • Configure Java™ Message Service (JMS) and HornetQ.
    • Configure the logging subsystem.
    • Configure the web subsystem.
    • Implement application security in JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 7.
    • Migrate JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 5/6 applications to JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 7.
    • Get an introduction to clustering
