    The training course ‘BPMN 2.0’ introduces participants to the essence of the language. BPMN or Business Process Model and Notation is the standard for modeling business processes. Currently under the care of The Object Management Group® (OMG®), BPMN has an eventful history that we believe reflects the complexity it seeks to standardize. Process models are much older than the kind of models that UML tried to standardize. These UML models often have a much more intimate relationship with software development. We can trace process models back to Frederick Winslow Tayler who was one of the first to attempt to look at manufacturing processes in a scientific way. This happened in the 19th century, at a time when people had an unshakeable faith in the ability of science (and engineering) to solve all problems.
    Before you can move on to controlling, improving or even innovating the processes of your organization, it is important to make the processes insightful. How do you ensure that the knowledge of individuals comes together and is transferable and accessible to the entire organization? BPMN, as a modeling language, provides a standard for communicating about business processes.

    COURSE OBJECTIVE:
    • Give an overview of what BPMN 2.0 is, its components, and learn to work with it through many examples and exercises
    • Give an insight into the way of thinking, the way you approach a problem, that leads to successful and above all usable models – especially important when using BPMN in Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), e.g. Tibco, SAP, BizTalk which all use process models as the living heart of the architecture
    • Become familiar with the main application areas of BPMN: software development, business development and market approach
    This course is intended as a hands-on introductory course. Nevertheless, those with some experience in process modeling will encounter much interesting and challenging material! You will learn BPMN in three plateaus of increasing complexity:

    • basic
    • simple (also called Descriptive)
    • advanced (also called Analytic)
