This course teaches you the configuration and administration of an IBM FileNet P8 Platform 5.5.x system. It introduces you to the key concepts of IBM FileNet P8 Platform architecture and organizing the content across the enterprise.
You will learn how to build content repositories, configure metadata, create storage areas, manage security, logging, and auditing, run bulk processing, use the sweep framework, extend the functionality with Events and Subscription, migrate and deploy FileNet P8 assets between environments, and configure content-based retrieval searches.
Virtual Learning
This interactive training can be taken from any location, your office or home and is delivered by a trainer. This training does not have any delegates in the class with the instructor, since all delegates are virtually connected. Virtual delegates do not travel to this course, Global Knowledge will send you all the information needed before the start of the course and you can test the logins.
After this course participants should be able to:
The course is designed to provide technical professionals with the skills that are needed to configure and administer an IBM FileNet P8 Platform.
Day 1 starts with an introduction to the course and to IBM FileNet P8 Platform. Students learn about Enterprise Content Management concepts, FileNet P8 Platform features, integration options, and its architecture. They explore the IBM FileNet P8 Platform applications and learn how to manage logging and configure auditing. They also learn about managing storage areas.
Day 2 starts with creating JDBC data sources, and building and configuring an object store. Students create property templates, document and folder classes, and also modify these objects. They also configure a subscription with an event action. The day finishes with introducing the security topic.
Day 3 continues with working on the security for IBM FileNet P8 assets. Students configure initial object store security, use the Security Script wizard, configure default instance security, and security inheritance, implement designer group access, and configure role-based access. They also learn to use bulk operations. Next, the course introduces content-based retrieval (CBR).
Day 4 continues with content-based retrieval (CBR). Students register IBM Content Search Services, configure index partitioning and content-based indexes, and create content-based searches. Then, they work on configuring sweeps and policies. The day finishes with introducing how to move IBM FileNet P8 Platform applications between environments.
Day 5 continues with moving IBM FileNet P8 Platform applications between environments. Students create a source environment and export the FileNet P8 application assets. They configure a destination environment and import the application assets. They also convert and analyze the FileNet P8 assets. The course wraps up with introducing the IBM FileNet P8 content services containers and organizing content across the enterprise.
Familiarity with enterprise content management concepts.
